HOW IT WORKS
As we age, our skin loses the ability to produce optimal levels of collagen that help preserve a full, youthful appearance. The device that conducts light energy provides safe heating of the upper layers of dermis. When the treated area is heating, the BBL™ Photofacial stimulates existing skin cells to enhance production of new collagen.
Heating the skin is only a half measure, as other procedures can also stimulate hyperpigmentation or ‘dark spots’. The BBL™ Photofacial method eliminates small red vessels that can lead to redness, while suppressing the production of melanin, which can lead to new dark spots.
The BBL™ Photofacial procedure is effective at removing age and sun spots, small facial veins and rosacea, dark hyperpigmentation marks and red tones, and assists by shrinking the pores for a more firm, youthful appearance on the:
Neck and Shoulders
A number of light wave lengths are available to customize the treatment with the BBL™ Photofacial to address acne and scarring, pigmentation and vascular lesions. That means that more than one skin condition can be conveniently treated on a single pass, reducing the treatment time for clients. The flexible Finesse Adapters make it possible to access hard to reach areas for consistent, even results. Patients have reported lasting improvement for up to ten years after treatment, depending on the treatment area.
ADMINISTRATION OF BBL™ BROADBAND LIGHT TREATMENTS
You should experience minimal to no discomfort during your treatment, but this can vary from patient to patient depending on the depth of application. There is no standard requirement for a topical anesthesia, however in some cases it may be recommended for sensitive areas. Most clients indicate a sensation equivalent to the ‘snap’ of a rubber band or a warming sensation. While you are receiving your BBL™ Broadband Light treatment your eyes will be protected using safety guards or glasses.
CREATING YOUR TREATMENT PLAN
BBL™ Broadband Light treatments are cleared by the FDA for use to correct benign pigmented lesions, cutaneous lesions, cutaneous vascular lesions, hair reduction and postular inflammatory acne vulgaris. It is currently not cleared by the FDA for changing gene expression or for anti-aging.
